Tarn Foot Farm Campsite in Ambleside

By Cecilia and James - Added 26th of January 2007

Last summer we spent a week in the lake district in Cumbria on Tarn Foot Farm Campsite near Ambleside. The weather was pretty bad, but the location - amazing. Being an amature photographer, I was spoilt for scenic choice. The campsite itself was very basic, but very quiet and situated within a small valley with small mountains surrounding it.

Just behind an outcrop 2 minutes walk from our tent we found a large lake reflecting the mountains in the distance. I spent many hours there just relaxing. I'd recommend a visit to this campsite. As I said before, it is basic, but it does have clean running water, toilets and a sink. Very affordable too.
